Dan Partouche was born in Tiaret Algeria, 18 January 1936, third of 10 children. His father was an artist specializing in Jewelry manufacture and goldsmith. As a child Dan showed interest in the intricate detail of his father’s filigree necklaces and earrings.
1954 at age 18 Dan immigrated to Israel, mined the Kibbutz Hanita on the western Galilee, situated on a mountain slope overlooking the Mediterranean. While there he decorated the large glass windows of communal dining hall with drawings.
1962-1964 at age 26 he studied at Avny Institute in Tel-Aviv and while studying there he was part of a group of young Israeli painters whose works were influenced by the master Zaritsky, Streichman and Stematsky.
